Installation Technician Job Description

Installation technicians, also known as installation technicians, install, maintain, and upgrade electronic equipment and computer hardware. Satellite and cable companies, electronics stores, and other types of companies hire installation technicians to work full-time, primarily during the day. Installers travel to clients' homes and workplaces to install and repair electronic devices of all kinds, working with little supervision. Installation engineers report primarily to a technical director or department supervisor.

Installer Duties and Responsibilities

Installation engineers talk with customers about where to place electronic and related cables, listen to descriptions of equipment problems, answer questions, and provide instructions for using new and updated equipment.

Installers verify equipment connections and functionality to ensure proper installation.

Keep stock

Installation technicians maintain inventory of your work vehicles by controlling inventory and ordering new supplies as needed.

Clean

Installation technicians clean up after the job is completed.
